Water's Super Power

We all know the benefits of drinking lots of #water throughout the day. But do you know its other super power? Reflection.

Sometimes, we all need a minute or two to gather our thoughts. One way to disguise this action is by taking a long, slow sip of water. This gives you just the advantage you need to move the engagement forward.

So, whenever I’m heading off to a meeting that I know may be a bit contentious, I grab my water bottle.

Water is a wonderful stress reliever and a tool for adding a pause in a difficult conversation.

  • To give you time to think.

  • To give you time to compose yourself.

  • To add reflection through a purposeful pause.

  • To give both you and others time to reflect – sometimes the other person is the one who needs to calm down and you can be the one to offer this lifeline by the simple, subtle gift of a sip of water.

This pro tip works well with coffee, tea, and soda. 😊
